Carlow is no longer the only county in Ireland without a Boots store.

Boots Ireland cut the ribbon on their newest store in Fairgreen Shopping Centre on Barrack Street in Carlow town today just in time for Christmas.

It’s store is based in the former Argos premises which has been vacant since the closure of Argos back in June of this year.

The Carlow branch will employ a total of 17 permanent local staff members and an additional three temporary people for the busy festive period.

“All the staff employed in the Carlow branch are local people,” explained Boots Ireland Area Manager for the South East, Caitriona Barron at the launch today.

“Carlow is the last county for Boots to launch in so it’s a really important day for both Carlow and Boots Ireland.”

Marita Dunne, Store Manager, said she can’t wait to welcome the people of Carlow to the new store.

“I’m thrilled to open this beautiful new store which is a wonderful addition to the Fairgreen Shopping Centre. Our team looks forward to welcoming many new customers from Carlow and beyond over the festive season and into the future.”
