Following closely behind Nantucket and Positano are Montauk, New York, and France’s Saint-Tropez, ranking at No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. However, New England continues to be well-represented in the ranking, with several destinations making it into the top 20. Kennebunkport, Maine, comes in at $405 per night, while Provincetown and Bar Harbor, also in Maine, have average prices of $404 and $384 per night respectively. Portland, Maine, rounds out the New England representation with an average price of $317 per night.
It’s no surprise that Nantucket is considered one of the most expensive beach destinations, as earlier this summer, a waterfront home in Monomoy sold for a staggering $38.1 million, setting a Massachusetts record.
