Plus-size model debuts incredible slim down following a 12-week diet and workout plan

Plus-size model debuts incredible slim down following a 12-week diet of no sugar and a simple workout plan… after facing backlash for losing weight

One of Australia’s most prominent plus-size models Karina Irby has debuted her incredible body transformation after facing backlash for losing weight.

The Gold Coast bikini designer, 32, posted before and after photos to her Instagram page, showcasing her results after completing a 12-week diet and fitness challenge.

The OnlyFans star revealed the secret behind her transformation was eating no sweets, desserts or sugars, staying in a daily calorie deficit, working out at least two times a week and getting 10,000 steps in three to five times per week.

‘Now, before you get upset about me posting a before and after photo and talking about calorie deficits. I have been in a dark place mentally over the past 18 months when it came to my health, fitness and working out – something that I LOVED in the past,’ she wrote.

‘I’ve spoken to a therapist, read bunch of books and worked on myself, to get to a place where I was happy and confident to take control of my health, fitness and move my body.’

‘So this was something I did for me and me alone. In no way, shape or form is this advice or guidance.’

Karina continued to say ‘everyone should move their body and fuel themselves with healthy things’.

‘If there’s one thing I have re-learnt through this process, it’s that numbers on a scale and the person in the mirror staring back at you has NOTHING to do with your health and fitness, especially your mental health and fitness!’

She explained she needed to break some bad habits and now feels much ‘lighter’ physically and mentally.

‘I’m happier, more clear-headed, confident and determined, I’m sleeping better and have more energy,’ she continued.

‘I’m aware that I am going to upset some people about posting this. But this is MY journey to a better mental and physical space and it’s not here to trigger you.’

‘If it does, keep scrolling. I’m posting in the hopes of motivating people to work on themselves. On whatever project or personal challenge they may be struggling with. This looks different for everyone.’

It comes after Karina was accused by critics of ‘faking’ her body positivity, prompting her to hit back in a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday.

The OnlyFans star shared a gym selfie and said she just wants ‘to be the happiest and healthiest version’ of herself, and it’s the trolls who aren’t being body positive.

‘To all the women commenting and telling me I’ve let them down now that I’m “losing weight and sharing my workouts”. To the women saying they need to block me for being a fake because I’m “clearly not body positive”,’ she began.

‘I’ll tell you what’s not positive – your attitude and outlook on what body positivity is. If I want to work on myself and get fit and healthy, that is being body positive.’

She added: ‘I’m trying to be the happiest and healthiest version of myself.

‘My mental and physical health has been suffering and I want to make a positive change in my life.’

She went on to say she has no intention of promoting fad diets, and instead wants to share her ‘struggles’ and become ‘happy and confident again’.

The entrepreneur concluded by telling her critics to be ‘more open-minded’ and to not ‘choose to be offended’ every time they see a person making healthy choices.
