This match is a rematch of the 2022 semifinal, in which the German player hurt his ankle in an exciting encounter and missed out on the opportunity to defeat Rafael Nadal, the winner. The 36-year-old Spaniard has sustained more injuries since then. Even though he hasn’t played consistently, the 14-time champion is still a threat. Nadal leads their head-to-head 7-3.

Over the years, Nadal has often beaten the odds. But Zverev, who just won the Italian Open, will be in blistering form when he gets to Paris. On the other hand, there’s more to this match’s buzz than just revenge. Given his past statements suggesting that 2024 might be his final year on tour, many believe this could be his farewell appearance at the French Open.

This speculation has fueled excitement among players, fans, and the media alike. He stated, “It’s a big, big chance that it’s going to be my last Roland Garros. But if I have to tell you it’s 100% my last Roland Garros? Sorry, but I will not. Because I cannot predict what’s going on.” Not only that, a lot of tennis fans also came forward to share their perplexed reactions to the ticket prices.
