Real to get the result
Injuries to Eder Militao, David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger and Nacho meant Real looked like they could be in trouble against La Liga’s surprise title challengers Girona.
However, they controlled the game and took their chances as Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo netted either side of a brace from Jude Bellingham.
Nacho is expected to return for Tuesday’s game, but Bellingham will miss out because of an ankle injury. That is a huge blow, but his expected replacement, Brahim Diaz, has been one of Real’s best players in recent weeks, netting in the 1-1 derby draw with Atletico.
Leipzig, after losing three on the spin since the winter break, got back on track to beat Union Berlin 2-0 before drawing 2-2 at Augsburg on Saturday.
Although their results have been mixed, Leipzig have scored plenty of goals, netting twice in each of their past four games. They also tallied 13 in their six pool games, finishing second to Manchester City in Group G.
Die Bullen have the firepower to test an unfamiliar central defensive pairing of Nacho and Aurelien Tchouameni, but may also struggle to handle a star-studded Real attack.
RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid tip 1: Real Madrid to win and both teams to score @ 11/4 with Betfair
Look out for Lois
A player who Leipzig will need to perform on Tuesday is Lois Openda.
The forward joined last summer after scoring 21 league goals in the previous campaign to help Lens finish second in Ligue 1, and he only looks to have got better since moving to Germany.
The Belgian has netted four goals in this season’s Champions League, including three times across the two group games against City.
The 23-year-old has scored in Leipzig’s past four games, and his pace and trickery can unsettle Real’s makeshift rearguard.
RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid tip 2: Lois Openda anytime goalscorer @ 6/4 with Betfair
French pair likely to be in the thick of the action
With Diaz, Vinicius and Rodrygo set to be leading Real’s attack, Leipzig’s defence may need to take evasive action and Mohamed Simakan could be a player to look at in the fouls markets.
The defender has committed 10 infringements in this season’s Champions League, so he is worth including to commit two or more in a bet builder, as is Real’s Eduardo Camavinga.
Camavinga is averaging a foul every 23.7 minutes in this season’s Champions League and is worth including to match his fellow Frenchman in committing two or more fouls.
Finally, for this bet builder, Real’s tally of 50 corners taken during the group stages was more than any other team and it is worth backing the 14-time European champions to have six or more to add further value to this bundle.
RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid tip 3: Bet builder: Mohamed Simakan to commit 2+ fouls, Eduardo Camavinga to commit 2+ fouls and Real Madrid to have over 6.5 corners @ 8/1 with Betfair
