SM Beauty celebrates Int’l Fragrance Week

Scents have the ability to affect both energy and mood. For example, citrusy odors can perk up one’s energy; floral aromas can uplift senses and relieve stress; and amber or oriental fragrances can heighten sensual feels.

Of course, there are so many other scents to be had and mixed together for a variety of experiences, which is why SM Beauty has joined the world in celebrating International Fragrance Week. They kicked off with the “Celebration of Scents” event on March 21, featuring some of the best fragrance brands at the SM Mall of Asia Atrium.

“International Fragrance Week is an official celebration globally, and it’s the first time we’re celebrating it here at SM Beauty. We have all these luxury premium brands, and the plan is to bring them together in one experiential location so that people can really explore and discover their scents,” said Sharon Decapia, Marketing AVP of Watsons Philippines, in an interview with The Manila Times Lifestyle.

“We have scents from the most affordable to the most premium brands. We’re actually carrying the widest range of fragrances in SM Beauty, and we are the market leader, so we just want to reactivate it because, for the longest time, people are not going out, and now that events and activities are back, people are starting to socialize again. It’s the perfect time to really find their scents and discover new fragrances,” she continued.

The Celebration of Scents event is a feast for the senses at the floral garden and an array of fragrances to create a paradise of sights and scents, offering a unique and immersive experience.

Participating brands include Jo Malone, Estee Lauder, Body Fantasies, Paco Rabanne, Calvin Klein, Coty, Giorgio Armani, Clinique, Marc Jacobs, Burberry, Chloe, Prada, and Ralph Lauren.

“Expect to find not just a shopping destination but a sensory experience for fragrance enthusiasts and shoppers alike. We hope this event will inspire our customers to discover new scents, find their signature fragrance, and ultimately, feel confident and beautiful with the power of fragrance,” Decapia shared.

During the launch, guests and customers had the opportunity to sample scents from different brands and provided guests and shoppers with tips on how to shop for authentic fragrances and choose their signature scents.

They were also able to listen to insights shared by experts like Nicole Limos of The Beauty Edit and Tin Conde of Luxasia Philippines, where she explained the different types of fragrances and the perfect occasion to use them, such as EDTs or “Eau de Toilette” for daytime use, “Eau de Parfum” or EDPs for romantic dates or dinner with friends, and perfumes or “parfums” for social events like weddings or parties.

“Our goal is to make fragrances more accessible — the joy of discovering your scent, creating beauty through fragrance, through memories, through emotions. All this is what we want our customers to experience,” Decapia enthused.

“Here at SM MoA and throughout 80 SM Beauty Stores in the country, there are fragrance experts to assist customers in discovering what’s the best scent for them. And at SM Beauty, customers can be assured that it’s authentic because we partner with authorized distributors,” she added.
